Validation Secretary
After eight years of highly effective service to the Guild
Alison Hine is retiring as Validation Secretary. She has been everything we
could have wanted and most of us who wear the badge today went through
validation on her watch. I can only echo the comments of fellow validators who
have been in awe of her encyclopaedic knowledge of the process, her friendly
help, advice and encouragement, plus her ability to organise Validation
sessions with unerring success. Without a doubt she will be missed by the rest
of the VTeam, validators and candidates. Thank you Alison for your great
contribution to the Guild.
The business of Validation is at the heart of the Guild and
the process will continue with John Greenacre taking the position of Validation
Secretary for a year, at his request, as a trial. The V Sec e-mail address,
which should continue to be used by candidates to submit assignments, will be
transferred from Alison to John at an agreed point in the near future. John and
the VTeam will be available to support candidates and Validators as the 2015
validation scheme beds-in.
