The influence of German
officers on the Turkish military campaigns in the Great War
Tony Coutts-Britton writes:
An old buddy from the USA, Dr Bill Anderson, is researching
the influence of German officers on the Turkish military campaigns in the Great
War. He has come to me with a request to be put in touch with anyone who is
knowledgeable in this area, with a specific reference to time and place. He has
specifically asked whether there is anyone in the Guild who who can assist with
additional research into what might be available about the Ottoman/German
forces and the Sinai Campaign in the summer 1916?
If you can help please contact me at acoutts_britton@hotmail.co.uk
Thiepval Visitor Centre
Piers Storie-Puch writes:
Work will be carried out at The Centre which may
require it to be closed for short periods; starting c mid Feb to
mid-April 2015. This is to do with the archaeological surveying of the
site in preparation for the building extension to The Centre. The closures will
be for short periods (1 - 2 hours) during the 1 to 2 months digging phase, if
and when "Sécurité Civile" decides. I am not certain yet if this work
will affect the normal access to the CCWGC Memorial
