Guild Update 31st May 2015

Membership Renewals

Secretary writes:

This will be the last Update that a number of members will receive as Jo Hook has now collated all the membership renewals and by next week we will have deleted all those members that have not paid from the mailing list. If you stop receiving the Update from next Friday it will be because our records show that your annual membership is still outstanding and you therefore will assumed to have left. If this happens and you believe that you have paid or wish to pay now please let me know.

Future Learn

A note to all members about Future Learn

An Open University collaboration with other top universities to offer free short on-line courses. They offer an incredible range of course on almost every subject. Easy to sign up and choose courses. I have just completed week 1 of a 3 week course on World War 1: Trauma and Memory. Mostly brief articles and short (no more than 10 minutes) videos. Some useful downloads as well.
Took me an hour or so to complete this weeks ‘course’. Lots of information that I knew but some very useful stuff that I did not, so well worth an hour of my time each week. Looks like I can do Week 2 and 3 already. I am signed up for several courses that I hope are as useful as this one.

I recommend it to you all.

Best Regards
